Lifespan Integration:
An Emerging Evidence-Based Psychotherapy

Lifespan Integration (LI) is an emerging evidence-based psychotherapy with a growing body of research supporting its clinical effectiveness across diverse populations and presenting concerns. While large randomized controlled trials are still needed, the existing literature includes naturalistic outcome studies, pragmatic clinical research, Hermeneutic Single-Case Efficacy Designs (HSCED), qualitative studies, theoretical papers, and inclusion in a Cochrane systematic review of psychosocial interventions for adult survivors of sexual assault.

The following publications are organized according to the relative strength of evidence, beginning with studies that most directly evaluate treatment effectiveness and progressing to qualitative, theoretical, and foundational works that contribute to understanding the model and its clinical application.

Evidence evolves over time. As with all psychotherapies, the evidence base for Lifespan Integration continues to grow. This bibliography is intended to provide clinicians, researchers, and students with an overview of the current published literature and is organized according to commonly accepted levels of evidence used in psychotherapy research.
